From Monday 1st August 2016, Coastway Hospital Radio is bringing a new daily show to its schedule in partnership with two local talking newspaper services – Talking Newspaper for the Blind (Brighton, Hove & District) and The Phoenix Talking Post, Lewes.

Each day at 9am and at midnight Coastway listeners will be able to listen to an hour of local news read from local and national publications by the two charities.

Listeners will be able to hear The Weekly News as read by Talking Newspaper for the Blind (Brighton, Hove & District) on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 9am and midnight and on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays they can enjoy stories read by The Phoenix Talking Post, Lewes.

Both partners are registered charities that provide a free weekly talking news and magazine service for the blind, partially sighted and people with reading difficulties. These recordings are posted to subscribers in CD or USB stick form.

Both charities rely on volunteers to read the news and on donations to keep the services going.

At Coastway we are very proud to promote and partner with these two fantastic charities to make our listeners aware of the services they offer.

Listeners can hear these shows by listening in on Hospedia Channel 1 during their stay at the Royal Sussex County & Sussex Eye Hospitals or by listening in online at coastway.org.uk or on the TuneIn app.
