There are plenty of opportunities to get a mention on air, or have a song or a piece of music played just for you. If you are in hospital, you can call us FREE from your Hospedia Channel 6 Unit, by dialling *800, or see one of our ward visitors. If you are not in hospital but want to make a request for someone who is, please phone the studio on 01273 626123 or e-mail studio@coastway.org.uk. We look forward to playing your requests soon! And remember, all calls to *800 are FREE! Would you like to make a donation? There is no such thing as too large or too small! Every donation is gratefully received, and every person or company who donates will receive a mention on the air. You would be doing a great favour for our hospital patients, as every penny goes directly to ensuring they have the best experience possible during their stay. If you are not able to donate money, perhaps you would consider offering something that we could give as a prize in a raffle or auction, or other fundraising event – for instance a bottle of wine, a meal to the value of a certain amount, a free something with purchase… anything that people would be willing to offer money to win. We would be grateful for anything you can give. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch. There are lots of ways in which individuals and companies can help us. Companies can take out a sponsorship with us for just £175.00 per year. This is equivalent to just 50p a day, and for this your company will receive a mention three times per hour during the programme being sponsored, and will be featured on our website. We believe that this is a very cost-efficient way of ensuring your advertising reaches a wide audience, for a fraction of the price of other methods. As you know, Coastway Hospital Radio is a charity and broadcasts to patients in the Royal Sussex County Hospital and Sussex Eye Hospital. It is a well-documented fact that patients remember messages that are broadcast to them during their stay in hospital – they listen on headphones and there are no distractions as there are with regular radio listening. This means that there is a vast audience that will absorb the name and nature of your company. There are 1,500 beds all connected to Hospedia Channel 6 and on average a patient's stay in hospital is three to four days. This constantly changing audience means that we are heard by a large number of people. There are six radio stations provided and Coastway is consistently the most popular station with patients.

In this section: Contacts Brighton's Coastway Hospital Radio Telephone: 01273 626123 We are always looking for new volunteers to help with all aspects of the station, including presenters, producers and ward visitors. Our members come from all walks of life and all age ranges, so everyone is very welcome. Diversity is what we are about. All that we ask is that you have enthusiasm, passion, a few good ideas and a sense of humour! All musical tastes and show ideas are welcome. People with previous radio experience will be a great asset, but it is not a prerequisite to join us. New members will be fully trained on how to use the equipment and present a great show. As well as those who want to broadcast, we are looking for help with publicity and fundraising, so if you would like to help out, please get in touch with us. If you would simply like to support us your subscription fee will be put to very good use. Nobody at Coastway is paid and we are always looking for extra funds to make sure we can continue to broadcast this very important service.
