What made you want to join Coastway Hospital Radio For Brighton?

I used to present a similar show at a local radio station in Seaford, which I really enjoyed! My friend Alice is involved with Coastway and she inspired me to continue my show here, now that I live in Brighton.

How did you get into presenting?

I used to join my friend Duncan on his ‘Roots and Blues’ live show at a local station. I went from being an occasional guest to reading the weather report, the ‘whats on’ segment and bringing three tracks of my own on a weekly basis! I was then given the opportunity to present my own show called ‘Soundtracks’.

How would you describe your show on Coastway?

It’s a celebration of music written for films, past and present, that I feel deserves a wider audience who can appreciate the genius that film music can bring to a story or just for its own sake. To create a connection with my play list I have given each week a theme, taking songs from different films to create a chilled show with a few epic moments, just like the stories from the big screen from which they are born.

Name a key tune that you love or inspired you

Currently… the ‘Planet Earth II’ suite by Hans Zimmer

What’s your favourite movie and why?

‘The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring’ – I went to see it 4 times at the cinema; I had never seen anything like it!

What do you do when you are not broadcasting?

I freelance for a radio production company in Brighton that make programmes for BBC Radio 4 and just enjoy living in Brighton!
